This Protocol was
created to help effect a more victim-centered approach toward sexual assault
crimes, and does not afford a criminal defendant any additional rights or
procedural protections beyond those that exist by law.
The Protocol contains general operating guidelines only. In some scenarios, various Protocol steps may be added,
omitted or amended as appropriate.
